At What Age Should My Child Visit an Orthodontist

A child should have an orthodontic evaluation by the age of 7. Although early treatment is often not indicated, early intervention can often prevent a more serious problem from developing. Some conditions that may need to be treated early include: over or under developing jaws, thumb sucking, moderate to severe crowding or spacing of teeth, early loss of baby teeth, and low self esteem.
